Privacy policy
This policy explains how AddressVerify (“the App”) handles information when a merchant installs or uses the App on a Shopify store.
What the App does
AddressVerify validates shipping addresses during checkout and after checkout. It may suggest a correction, tag an order, place a fulfillment hold, or update an address when the merchant’s rules allow it.
Information the App can access
After install, the App may receive from Shopify:
- Shop domain and basic shop identifiers
- Shipping address fields needed to validate deliverability
- Order identifiers used for idempotent billing and logs
- Fulfillment hold status when that feature is enabled
The merchant dashboard does not display customer names, email addresses, or phone numbers. Customer identifiers written to logs are hashed.
How we use information
- To run address checks and return a suggestion or rule action
- To tag, hold, or update orders when configured
- To record usage billing once per unique Shopify order
- To operate GDPR webhooks: customer data request, customer redact, and shop redact
- To provide merchant support when you contact us
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Address data may be sent to a merchant-configured validation provider (built-in engine, or an API the merchant supplies). Provider API keys are stored encrypted. We may share information with hosting or infrastructure providers, or when required by law.
Retention
Validation logs and sessions are kept while the App is installed. Uninstall deletes shop sessions and stored shop data. Shopify compliance webhooks redact or delete data as requested.
Your rights
If you are in a region with access, correction, or deletion rights, email support@addressverify.app. We will work with the merchant and Shopify’s compliance webhooks to fulfill the request.
Changes
We may update this policy when the product or the law changes. The updated page is the current version.
